The Via Francigena is the ancient pilgrimage route to the tomb of St. Peter in Rome. Of the almost 2000 km between Canterbury and Rome, about half is in Italy, where the journey is divided into 44 stages.
The Tuscan stretch, certainly one of the most evocative for the beauty of the cities, villages and landscapes, ends in the Municipality of San Casciano dei Bagni, precisely in the small hamlet of Ponte a Rigo, before entering Lazio.
